Rajsko jezero, kao moderna oaza rekreacije, dobilo je neobi\u010dne i dragocjene \u010duvare \u2013 nekropolu ste\u0107aka koja svjedo\u010di o \u017eivotu i obi\u010dajima iz perioda srednjovjekovne bosanske dr\u017eave.\r\n\r\nOvi monumentalni kameni spomenici, koji okvirno datiraju u period od 12. do 16. vijeka, nisu oduvijek bili na ovoj lokaciji. U \u017eelji da se sa\u010duvaju od zaborava i propadanja, te da postanu dostupniji oku javnosti, histori\u010dara i arheologa, ste\u0107ci su pa\u017eljivo izmje\u0161teni u neposrednu blizinu jezera. Time je ovaj prostor, inicijalno zami\u0161ljen kao sportsko-rekreacijski kompleks, dobio dublju, historijsku dimenziju.\r\n\r\nDanas, dok posjetioci u\u017eivaju u \u010distoj vodi Rajskog jezera ili \u0161etaju ure\u0111enim stazama, imaju priliku dotaknuti historiju staru nekoliko stotina godina.
