Manjača

18.9 km do centra grada

Description

Manjača Mountain is located just 25 kilometers south of Banja Luka, between the Vrbas River to the east and the Sana River to the west, and is a true discovery for lovers of unspoiled nature and active holidays. The highest peak, Velika Manjača, reaches 1,239 meters above sea level, and the karst terrain with its dolomite and limestone rocks conceals a large number of caves and pits — among them one of the deepest in Republika Srpska, reaching an impressive 302 meters.

Marked hiking and cycling trails, rich plant and animal life, and the Tourist and Recreation Complex with Lake Šljivno offer a perfect combination of adventure and relaxation. Manjača is also the birthplace of the celebrated writer Petar Kočić, in whose honor the cultural event "Kočićev Zbor" is held every August. Nature, culture, and adventure — all within half an hour's drive from Banja Luka.
