River Tara
Description
The Tara flows 40 km through Bosnia and Herzegovina — but those 40 kilometers on the Bosnian side are the quietest and wildest part of its entire course. It is precisely here, where the river forms the natural border between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, that rafting camps are located, attracting thousands of adventurers from all over Europe every year. The camps are built in an ethnic style on the riverbank, with bungalows, restaurants, and direct access to the water. The rafting section from Šćepan Polje to Foča continues onto the Drina and can be up to 43 kilometers long — the longest rafting route in the region. Foča is the starting and ending point for everyone—a city that lives for the river and adventure.
