Mostar is one of the most famous tourist cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, located on the banks of the Neretva River. The city is best known for the Old Bridge, a masterpiece of Ottoman architecture that connects the two sides of the historic old town. The Old Bridge was built in 1566 by order of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent.
The bridge was destroyed during the war in 1993 and rebuilt and reopened in 2004.
