Ramsko Lake

1.8 km to the city center

Description

Lake Rama was formed in 1968 by the construction of a dam on the Rama River and today covers an area of about 15.5 km². Surrounded by mountains and numerous islets, among which Šćit with its Franciscan monastery stands out, the lake offers a unique blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage. Its exceptionally clean and clear water is rich in fish, making it attractive to anglers as well as to anyone seeking peace, swimming, or spending time in unspoiled nature. Although the water level can vary significantly due to hydroelectric needs and climatic conditions, the landscapes it leaves behind—from a full, emerald lake to almost surreal views of its exposed bed—further emphasize its uniqueness and the power of nature.
