Bobijaško oko

"The Eye" in the Earth

17.6 km to city center

Description

Bobijaško Oko is one of the most unusual natural phenomena in Bosnia and Herzegovina, located at the foot of Grmeč Mountain, around 20 kilometers from Sanski Most. This karst lake looks like an "eye" in the earth and represents a combination of a spring and a sinkhole, making it a particularly rare hydrological phenomenon.

Its size and appearance change throughout the year — during periods of heavy rainfall it acts as a powerful spring, while in drier periods it can resemble a sinkhole or a calm karst depression. It is surrounded by untouched nature, forests, and a silence that further enhances its mystical atmosphere.

Bobijaško Oko is also known for its sensitive nature, so swimming is strictly prohibited, and the area is visited exclusively for observation and exploration. The best time to visit is in late spring, summer, and early autumn, when access is easier and nature is at its most vivid.

Due to its uniqueness and natural distinctiveness, Bobijaško Oko is considered one of the hidden gems of Grmeč and the entire Bosanska Krajina region.
