Description

Martin Brod is one of the most beautiful villages in Bosnia and Herzegovina, set at the confluence of the Unac and the Una, in the heart of Una National Park. It is home to the park's largest complex of waterfalls, and life here flows slowly and gently, far from the city bustle. The village grew out of a medieval town built in the late 14th or early 15th century, recorded in 1396 under the name Konuba.

Martin Brod's real gem is the Rmanj Monastery, built in the 15th century from Una tufa, regarded as an important spiritual seat of the northern Tromeđa. Besides the natural waterfalls, visitors are charmed by the bučnica – a natural "eco washing machine" more than three centuries old – and the last surviving mill, where flour is still ground today. Martin Brod is a paradise for lovers of peace, fishing and Una trout, and for all who seek unspoilt nature.
