Description

Una National Park is a protected natural entity of exceptional value, located in the far west of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the Bihać area. The park encompasses the valleys of the Una and Unac rivers, as well as the slopes of the Plješevica, Grmeč, and Osječenica mountains, forming a unique blend of river canyons, forests, and mountain landscapes.

Covering an area of approximately 19,800 hectares, this area represents one of the most important zones of biological diversity in this part of Europe and is of great significance for the preservation of natural heritage.

The National Park stretches along the border with Croatia and is located just thirty kilometers from Plitvice Lakes National Park, making it easily accessible to visitors from the region. The nearest border crossings are Užljebić, Izačić – Ličko Petrovo Selo, and Strmica, through which one reaches Bihać and the park itself.
