City Museum
Description
The Brčko District Museum, whose roots go back to the 1980s, today stands as a dynamic center for preserving cultural heritage, housed in the recognizable “Šipad” building. After a period of inactivity, the institution experienced a renaissance in 2017 with the founding of the Ethno-Archaeological Collection, which attracts many visitors through innovative displays such as “From Seed to Table” and natural history exhibitions about the Ice Age. In addition to a rich collection that includes archaeological finds and ethnological material, the Museum is actively brought to life through workshops for children, archaeology schools, and the promotion of scientific publications, while continuously working on preparing a permanent exhibition. As a bridge between the past and modern tourism, this institution not only preserves the memory of times gone by, but also educates new generations about the rich historical mosaic of the Brčko area.
