Source of the Tihaljina River
Description
Below the monumental reddish cliffs of Peć Mlini, known as Cvitanjske stine, lies one of the most spectacular springs in Herzegovina. The Tihaljina River does not emerge quietly here; it bursts forcefully from the dark depths of a cave at the foot of a 150-meter-high rock massif, immediately creating a series of rapids and small waterfalls at its birth. The crystal-clear, blue-green water stands in perfect contrast to the rough, warm tones of the limestone, while the dense surrounding vegetation provides natural freshness even in the middle of the harshest Herzegovinian droughts. This spring is not only a hydrological phenomenon, but a place of incredible energy and peace, where the power of nature can be felt in every drop of water that emerges from the earth's depths.
