Ripački waterfall
Description
Ripački slap is located in the settlement of Ripač, not far from Bihać, on the Una River. This waterfall is part of the unique river ecosystem of the Una, known for its emerald color, travertine barriers, and fast yet clear flow.
Ripački slap is a smaller but very picturesque waterfall formed over travertine deposits, creating cascades and foamy water that produce a special visual effect. It is surrounded by greenery, making it an ideal place for rest and short nature trips.
Today, this area is popular with visitors who come for walking, photography, and enjoying the peace by the river. In the summer months, part of the Una riverbank in Ripač is also used for swimming in the shallower, calmer sections, while the waterfall itself is more of a sightseeing attraction than a place for water activities.
Ripački slap is often the first natural attraction visitors see at the entrance to the Bihać area, so many consider it a kind of “opening scene” to the beauty of Una National Park and the entire region.
