Description

Kiseljak is a town that literally grew out of water - and not just any water. The mineral water Sarajevski kiseljak springs from a depth of 150 to 300 meters, enriching itself with minerals as it naturally flows through ancient volcanic rock. Four springs have been captured in the Kiseljak area - Park, Kiseljačić, Podgaj, and Bio-han - and the first expert analysis was carried out in 1886 by Prof. E. Ludwig, a court adviser from Vienna, who concluded that this water belongs to the group of kiseljaks with the highest levels of CO2, Glauber's salt, and iron, and that - by composition - it is a specialty among European mineral waters.

The tradition of organized bottling dates back to 1891, when the water was shipped from Dalmatia and Styria all the way to Bombay in India, and even then 80,000 bottles were exported to countries across Europe. At the prestigious international Monde Selection competition, Sarajevski kiseljak won a gold medal for quality, and it also became the recipient of the Crystal Taste Award from the International Taste and Quality Institute in Brussels.
