Kiseljak Excursion Site
Description
Kiseljak Excursion Site has traditionally been a favorite destination for people from Tešanj — located just five kilometers from the town center, in the forest at the foot of Crni Vrh, this place has served as a summer oasis for swimming and relaxation since 1954, when the first pool was built.
After the 2018–2020 renovation, the pool complex owned by the Municipality of Tešanj was given a completely new lease on life — the larger and smaller pools, with shower cabins, restrooms, and catering services, attracted more than 25,000 swimmers in a short time.
Alongside the pool area, visitors also have access to volleyball and small football pitches, canopies for family gatherings, and the excursion site also includes the Scout House of the Crni Vrh Scout Troop, which organizes scouting camps throughout the year.
The spring that gave the excursion site its name
Kiseljak owes its name to the mineral water spring that gushes from the ground in the middle of a pine forest. The water is of excellent quality, and this natural gift was long the reason why the people of Ukrinica and the surrounding villages gathered here for generations. The Kiseljak Ecological Society took the initiative to restore the site and put effort into making it once again what it used to be — a beloved excursion spot with soul.
Potential Waiting to Be Discovered
Kiseljak has something that many more modern excursion sites lack: history and community. The pool built more than 60 years ago was one of the first such facilities in this part of Bosnia — a fact that shows how far ahead of its time this place once was. Today the pool is no longer in use, but the restored paths, grill area, and arranged tables invite visitors to rediscover this gem of the Tešanj area.
