Orašje
Basic Information
Orašje is the administrative, cultural, and economic center of Posavina Canton in the northern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Located along the Sava River, on the border with Croatia, it plays an important role in cross-border cooperation and trade. The town is characterized by flat landscapes, fertile soil, and developed agriculture, especially in the production of grains and vegetables. Orašje nurtures a rich tradition and cultural events, among which the best known is the "Days of Croatian Film" festival.
Orašje's very favorable geographic area and excellent transport position are a major advantage: 12 km to the E70 "European Route" motorway (Županja toll station), 73 km to Osijek (Republic of Croatia), 80 km to Tuzla, 158 km to Belgrade (Republic of Serbia), 187 km to Sarajevo, 259 km to Zagreb (Republic of Croatia), and 345 km to Budapest (Hungary).
