Basilica of the Holy Family

The Church of the Holy Family was built between 1967 and 1970 and today holds a special place in the life of the local community. Instead of being celebrated on the first Sunday after Christmas, Family Sunday is traditionally observed here on the last Sunday in July, when a large number of believers from Bosnia and abroad gather in Kupres, in the period between the feast of St. Elijah and the Assumption of Mary.

That day also marks the consecration of the church, with a joint celebration that brings together families and believers from all over the world. A special highlight is the event from 2017, when the Guinness World Record for gathering people with the same name was broken right here - as many as 2,325 people named Ivan gathered in one place.
