Fishing on the Uni
Description
Fishing in Una National Park is not just a sport — it is a living tradition that dates back to the time of the Japods, the ancient inhabitants of these shores. The clear, cold waters of the Una and Unac rivers have attracted anglers for generations, and today they are a true pilgrimage destination for fly-fishers and lure anglers from all over Europe.
The park offers seven specially organized fishing zones — three exclusive fly-fishing zones (Martin Brod 7.5 km, Unac 900 m, and Kulen Vakuf 1.5 km) and four zones for lure fishing and fishing with a float (Ćelije–Klisa 14.5 km, Dvoslap 5.5 km, Gečet 3 km, and Očigrije 1.7 km).
With the declaration of the national park, fishing was not banned, but thoughtfully integrated into conservation measures and the tourist offer — because here nature and sport coexist peacefully. With emerald-green water, an untouched riverbank, and the sound of the Una in the background, fishing in Una National Park is not just about catching fish — it is an experience you will remember for a lifetime.
