Branko Radičević Public Library
Description
In the very heart of the city stands the Branko Radičević Public Library, the only building in Derventa that enjoys the status of a state-protected cultural monument. Built during the Austro-Hungarian period, the building draws attention with its fascinating pseudo-Moorish style and lavish decorative contours.
Although it dates back to 1945, today it is a modern cultural center where literature and history intertwine. While the ground floor is reserved for the rich library collection, the upper floor houses a valuable museum exhibition. Fully renovated, this building is not only a home for books, but also the finest witness to the urban heritage and elegance of old Derventa.
