Ozren Paragliding

13.4 km to the city center

Description

Ozren Mountain hides one of the most beautiful paragliding sites in northern Bosnia — and few people know it. That is exactly what makes it special. The "ParaGhost" club from Doboj, active since 2009, has been quietly conquering the skies above Ozren for years with around fifteen experienced pilots who know every thermal corridor of this mountain. In spring and summer, soaring from Gostilj at 773 meters will open up views that few sports can offer — thermal currents here regularly reach the cloud base above 2,500 meters, and flights lasting several hours and covering dozens of kilometers are by no means unusual.

In autumn and winter, the action moves to the three well-maintained takeoff sites at Ruj, at 553 meters — because paragliding on Ozren has no off-season. For adventurers who have never taken to the wing, "ParaGhost" offers tandem flights that require no experience or prior knowledge — just sturdy shoes and the courage to step toward the edge. The organizers jokingly warn you to bring a lemon, because the smile won’t leave your face anytime soon. For anyone who wants to go a step further, a two-day paragliding course is available, with theory, field practice, and your first real flight. Ozren and "ParaGhost" together prove that sometimes the greatest adventures are hidden where you least expect them.
