Rorovi Excursion Site
Description
The Rorovi excursion site is one of the most visited and important city excursion areas in Goražde, located on a hill above the Površnica neighborhood, just 2 km from the city center. It lies above the old Austro-Hungarian excursion site Belvedere Würtemberg, arranged at the end of the 19th century in honor of Duke Wilhelm Württemberg. From Rorovi, there is an impressive view of Goražde and the Drina River winding through the valley — a sight that is drawing increasing attention from tourists.
It is surrounded by deciduous and coniferous forest, ideal for walks and outings. The excursion site has benches for resting, a gazebo, and a children's playground with swings and seesaws for the youngest visitors. There is no food service, so visitors should bring their own food and drinks. From the city center, it takes about six minutes by car via Seada Sofovića Sofe, Kulina Bana, and Sarajevska streets.
A viewpoint above the Drina
Rorovi offers one of the most beautiful views of Goražde — the city and the Drina River can be seen from here almost like on a postcard. Located above the Austro-Hungarian excursion site Belvedere Würtemberg, which the Austrians arranged at the end of the 19th century in honor of Duke Wilhelm Württemberg, Rorovi today serves the same purpose as it did then: a place to escape the city with a beautiful view. The deciduous and coniferous forest surrounding the excursion site further enhances the atmosphere for an afternoon walk.
