Pionirska Dolina is the oldest zoological garden in Bosnia and Herzegovina and a beloved family destination located just 2 kilometers from the center of Sarajevo, covering an area of 8.5 hectares. It is home to 38 animal species from around the world — lions, bears, zebras, wolves, lemurs, gibbons, wallabies, caimans, pythons, iguanas, and many more. Alongside the animals, the youngest visitors are treated to a go-kart track, electric cars, a carousel, the "Bosna Express" train, slides, swings, and seesaws. Open 365 days a year, the zoo offers a stroll through a horticulturally landscaped setting, education, and entertainment for all generations. Children up to 5 years enter free of charge, and photography for personal use is permitted. Pionirska Dolina is a place where nature, animals, and children's joy live together in the heart of Sarajevo.
