Cathedral Church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God

The Cathedral Church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God in Brčko is a true spiritual beacon of the Zvornik-Tuzla Eparchy, whose history bears witness to great suffering and even greater restorations. After the original church from 1874, adorned with the iconostasis by the famous Paja Jovanović, was completely destroyed during World War II, the present church was built on the foundations of faith and unity, with construction beginning in 1968.

Today, with its monumentality, its iconostasis made of Slavonian oak, and the rich frescoes by Dragan Bjelogrlić, it preserves the memory of centuries of Orthodox presence in this region. This magnificent building in the heart of Brčko not only connects the past and the present, but with its architectural beauty and spiritual peace remains one of the most important symbols of the town and the region.
