Youth Fountain

The Fountain of Youth, a masterpiece by the renowned Brčko sculptor Sead Ekmečić from 1963, today stands as the most recognizable symbol of Brčko in Trg mladih. The sculptural composition of a boy and a girl holding onto the tail of a fish artistically immortalizes the inseparable bond between the city and the Sava River, reminding every passerby of the life-giving power of water that shapes the identity of this region. Alongside this symbol, the Ekmečić family also gifted the city an invaluable cultural treasure through the “Legat Ekmečić,” a rich collection of artworks by domestic and foreign artists, permanently placing Brčko on the map of important artistic centers in the region.
