Description

Located in the peaceful Kolobara neighborhood, Kuća Kočića is one of the finest examples of an Austro-Hungarian villa in Bosnia and Herzegovina, built in the exotic pseudo-Moorish style. This building, erected by the famous merchant Alija Kučukalić at the end of the 19th century, is recognizable for its rich facade ornamentation and decorative elements inspired by the architecture of North Africa and Spain. The villa was designed as a detached building in a spacious garden, and the interior hides two identical, luxurious apartments that once featured salons with satin upholstery and gilded furniture. Due to its exceptional architectural and historical value, Kuća Kočića was declared a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and its exterior was thoroughly renovated in 2022, restoring this architectural gem to its former glory.
