A century-old fishing tradition

Ribnjak Saničani is not just a production facility — it is a living ecosystem fed by the Gomjenica River for more than a century. On an area of about 1,300 hectares, 35 lakes of different sizes are arranged, each forming its own aquatic niche.

Carp dominates the farming, but grass carp, silver carp, catfish, zander, and pike also thrive here. Every year, up to 1,500 tons of table fish are exported from Saničani, and you can still experience part of that tradition today by visiting this impressive water complex.
