Description

The Zenica City Museum was founded in 1966 as a public institution of general type, and today it represents the heart of the cultural and historical identity of the Zenica region. Its path since its founding was marked by work at several different locations, including the former Synagogue building, the Madrasa, and Hadžimazića House, until 2007, when it moved into a modern building designed by Zvjezdan Turkić. Today, the museum manages rich collections of archaeological, historical, and ethnological material, and under its jurisdiction is also the medieval fortress of Vranduk. Thanks to the dedication of this institution, the Zenica Synagogue has also been fully restored, preserving one of the most important monuments of Zenica's multicultural history.
