It is located on steep cliffs above Grabovica Lake in the Neretva Canyon, at the foot of Mount Prenj, near Jablanica. What makes it truly unique is that the ferrata can only be reached by kayak through the canyon, turning the adventure into a combination of paddling, climbing, and hiking.

Difficulty: D (Difficult)
Length: 250 m
Total Activity Time: 4–5 hours

Who Is This Via Ferrata For?

Via Ferrata Prenjska Vrata is intended for adventurers with good physical fitness and basic via ferrata experience. Due to its D difficulty rating and exposed rock sections, it is more challenging than most ferratas in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Beginners are advised to attempt the route only with a professional guide and proper safety equipment.

Tips

Use complete via ferrata equipment (helmet, harness, and ferrata set) and check that it is in good condition before starting the route.
Plan enough time for the adventure, as it includes kayaking, climbing the ferrata, and returning via a hiking trail.
The best time to visit is during spring and autumn when temperatures are more comfortable for outdoor activities.
