Vis Excursion Area
Description
When the people of Gračanica want a break from the city bustle, their first choice is the Vis excursion area, located at 692 meters above sea level as the highest peak of Trebava mountain. Just eight kilometers from the city, above the picturesque village of Babići, Vis is a true air spa offering untouched nature and one of the most beautiful panoramic views in the region. From the Sijedi krš rock, on a clear day, the view stretches across the peaks of Vlašić, Konjuh, and Majevica, all the way to the flat Posavina and the Sava River.
For lovers of active holidays, this is an ideal destination; the hiking association "Zefir" maintains excellent trails, such as the 15 km Vis-Monj route or the easier circular Sijedi krš trail. In addition to hiking, visitors can enjoy sports fields for small football and beach volleyball, while a special attraction is the authentic concrete bunkers of the former JNA and the hidden artificial lakes in the Šemunica forest. With landscaped picnic areas equipped with fireplaces and benches, Vis is a center of cultural and sporting events throughout the year, making it an essential place for anyone seeking the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation in nature.
A view to remember
You can see everything from Vis. The Spreča Valley lies below, the slopes of Majevica are on one side, and on the other are distant silhouettes toward Zvornik, Osmaci, and Živinice. That view alone makes the climb worthwhile — whether on foot, by bike, or, for the brave, by paraglider. The Tuzla Paragliding Team, national champions in precision landing, regularly chooses Vis as a training location, giving this picnic area an adrenaline-filled dimension that is rare in Tuzla Canton.
