Gračanićki Ćiro

In the immediate vicinity of today’s bus station in Gračanica, on the site where the railway once ran, stands the popular "Ćiro" – an authentic steam locomotive that preserves the memory of the golden age of the Gračanica railway. Built in the famous Hungarian factory MAVAG, this Series 55 locomotive is one of the few remaining examples of its kind in the world and a symbol of the time when Gračanica, as far back as 1898, was connected to the rest of Europe by a narrow-gauge railway. For tourists and lovers of industrial heritage, this open-air exhibit is not only a favorite photo spot, but also a nostalgic monument to the seven-decade-long tradition that brought Gračanica into the modern industrial era.
