Drina river Rafting
Description
The Drina River, formed by the confluence of the Piva and Tara rivers at Šćepan Polje, is 346 kilometers long and is one of the most attractive rafting destinations in the entire region—in two completely different guises. On its upper course, from Šćepan Polje to Foča, the Drina is wild, fast, and adrenaline-fueled — with a canyon up to 1,000 meters deep, Class II and III rapids, and pristine nature that takes your breath away. This is territory for experienced rafters and anyone seeking true excitement.
On its middle and lower courses, near the Drina National Park at Bratunac, the river calms down and reveals its other face—crystal-clear water, a pristine shore, and peaceful stretches ideal for families and beginners. It is precisely this stretch of the river that hosts the famous Drina Regattas in Bajina Bašta and Ljubovija, which each year in mid-July attract up to 20,000 visitors. The Drina is one river, but every kilometer tells a different story.
