Trebević Viewpoint
Description
Trebević Viewpoint is one of the most popular picnic spots for Sarajevo residents and a place that offers perhaps the most beautiful view of the city, especially its old core at the foot of the mountain. It is located at an altitude of 1,164 meters, and it is reached by the famous Trebević cable car that departs from Bistrik. The cable car first began operating back in 1959 and quickly became a symbol of the city.
After a decades-long break, the restored cable car started operating again in April 2018 and today takes visitors above Sarajevo in just a few minutes. At the arrival station, they are greeted by a café with a fantastic view, and nearby is the 1984 Olympic bobsleigh and luge track. The viewpoint is ideal for a walk, photos, and an unforgettable sunset over the city.

A point at 1,164 meters above sea level from which you can also see the old bazaar below. The cable car that has been a symbol of the city since 1959 takes you up here. Practical Information
When it first opened in 1959, the Trebević cable car was the largest in the wider region — designed and built by the Czechs, it carried passengers from Bistrik at 583 metres up to the Viewpoint at 1,160 metres above sea level. Today's rebuilt cable car has 33 gondolas, each holding up to ten passengers, and the ride from the city to the mountain takes about eight minutes.
