Trebević Mountain

2.5 km do centra grada

Description

Trebević is the favourite mountain of Sarajevans and the city's true green lung, right beside the Old Town, whose hillside neighbourhoods blend into it. Its summit rises to about 1,629 metres, and the mountain continues eastward into Jahorina. It has long been Sarajevo's main excursion spot, with a mild climate, natural beauty and great biodiversity, home to several hundred plant species, some endemic.

Today Trebević blends nostalgia with modern attractions – the restored cable car, first opened back in 1959, again runs from the Old Town to the mountain and is one of Sarajevo's symbols. Visitors find the graffiti-covered former Olympic bob track, the Sunnyland amusement park with its alpine coaster, a via ferrata, a zip line and the Brus recreation centre. With its restaurants, viewpoints and trails, Trebević is the perfect escape just a step from the city bustle.
