Basic Information

Konjic is one of the oldest towns in Bosnia and Herzegovina, located in a narrow valley where the Neretva Canyon cuts through mountain ranges. The town is world-famous for woodcarving, a craft included on UNESCO's list of intangible heritage. Its symbol is the reconstructed Old Bridge from 1682, one of the finest examples of Ottoman architecture. The biggest tourist attraction is the "D-0 Facility," better known as Tito's Bunker, a secret atomic shelter that has now been turned into a museum of contemporary art. Surrounded by Boračko Lake and Mount Prenj, Konjic offers excellent conditions for rafting, hiking, and fishing, while the local cuisine, with an emphasis on lamb and trout, completes the authentic Herzegovinian experience.
